This project studies the agency and activism of educators, educational leaders and student activists working to enhance gender justice in education across Canada. Gender justice includes the realization of rights and opportunities for people of all genders. The project conducts open-ended interviews with education administrators (teachers, principals, school board officials, teachers union representatives) and student activists to understand their experiences working to advance gender justice and equity in education. Following interviews, interested participants will be brought together in participatory workshops to analyze interview data and create resources to support other educators and activists. Trans Lifeline

Full anonymity and confidentiality
No non-consensual active rescue (calling 911, emergency services, or law enforcement)

WAVAW 24-Hour Crisis and Information Line provides 24/7, free and confidential support by phone and online chat. We help the LGBTQ+ community, women, men in Canada who may be struggling or looking for support with sexual abuse. When you reach out to us you will talk with one of our trained and supportive counselors who will collaborate with you to find solutions while giving you an empathetic and compassionate ear. They have expertise and understanding in how to help people going through difficulties similar to what you are. We are ready to support you 24/7, whether it’s the middle of the day or the middle of the night.

Wellness Together Canada offers counselling (phone or video) and crisis support (texting), 24/7. Services are free and offered to anyone across Canada, or Canadians abroad, and provide support for any mental health and/or substance use health need.Translation is available through the phone line, in over 200 languages. The counselling line is supported by trained and supervised counsellors. In addition to counselling and crisis support, a full continuum of virtual mental health and substance use health resources are available at wellnesstogether.ca Wellness Together Canada is delivered in partnership with Homewood Health, Kids Help Phone and Stepped Care Solutions, and is funded by the Government of Canada.

The Listening Ear is dedicated to providing free, compassionate and confidential support over phone. We are here to help everyone in Michigan, the United States, and Canada who may be looking for support with abuse & domestic violence, anxiety, bullying, Dementia & Alzheimer’s, depression, eating & body image, family issues, gambling, gender & sexual identity, grief & loss, loneliness, parenting, pregnancy & abortion, relationships, school or work issues, self-harm, sexual abuse, stress, substance use, suicide, supporting a friend or family member, trauma & PTSD. People call us for many different mental health, crisis and behavioral health reasons. Regardless of what you are experiencing, we can support you. Talking with us is free. As part of our commitment to preventing suicide, we are available to help you if you are considering suicide or harming yourself, or if you are noticing warning signs in a friend or family member
